Member of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Aishath Minna has been appointed at the graft watchdog's Vice President.
The Commission revealed that Minna was appointed for the position with the unanimous agreement of all members present at the commission meeting.
Minna was appointed for the post after her predecessor Muawwiz Rasheed was appointed as the Commissioner of ACC, following the previous Commissioner, Hassan Luthufee's resignation from the post late last month.
Luthufee resigned from the post ahead of a parliament vote to sack him from the post due to continued absences for over six months. Luthufee has also been accused of laxity in taking proper action against some corruption cases.
