100 housing units will be constructed in Thulhaadhoo island of Baa atoll and Naifaru island of Lhaviyani atoll.
100 housing units in three and four storey apartment buildings will be constructed in Naifaru under the design and build policy. The apartments comprising of three bedrooms, three bathrooms, living room, kitchen, store room and laundry area will be built over an area of 1100 square feet. The project was contracted to W and A Overseas Company for MVR 71,403,200.00 to be completed over period of 311 days.
The agreement was signed by State Minister of Housing Ministry Ahmed Nasheed on behalf of the government, and Managing Director of W and A Overseas Company Ajuhad Abdulla Zuhair on behalf of the contractor.
A similar contract was given to a joint venture between Precision Engineering Service and Flexinc Pvt Ltd for MVR 79,682,850.00 to build 100 apartments in Thulhaadhoo within 363 days.
While the contract was signed on behalf of the government by the state minister of Housing Ministry, D.W Thilakarathuna, the Managing Director of Precision Engineering Service - Flexinc JV signed the agreement.
