Maldives Coastguard has provided assistance to seven foreign vessels that were caught in bad weather.
Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF)'s Spokesperson said seven Sri Lankan Fishing boats traveling in international waters near Ihavandhippolhu that were caught in severe weather conditions were assisted by the Coast Guard.
The vessels were allowed to enter the Maldives Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) after the boats requested shelter, said MNDF.
