The world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa lit up in the colours of the Maldives on Friday, on the occasion of Maldives 54th Independence Day.
The country gained freedom from the British in 1965, after 77 years as a British protectorate.
This is the first time the Maldives flag was displayed on Burj Khalifa.
With a total height of 829.8 meters and a roof height of 828 meters, the Burj Khalifa has been the tallest structure and building in the world since 2009.
