Maldives Embassy in UK promotes Destination Maldives

The Maldivian Embassy in London has promoted Destination Maldives at the Bedford Italian Festival. The Maldives Ambassador to UK, Dr. Farahnaz Faisal organized the activities that were carried out at the festival.

Mayfair Insurance collaborated with the Embassy to provide space at the festival, free of charge for the activities planned by the Embassy. The stall provided information on travel options to the Maldives, with Bedford representatives at the stall dressed in Maldivian attire.

According to the Ambassador, the Embassy’s team informed fairgoers on the guesthouses, liveaboards and hotel stay options in the Maldives, in addition to the resorts. Ambassador Farahnaz said that they understood that among majority of visitors, Maldives is known as a luxury travel destination; thus providing information on alternative stay options.

Thoyyib Mohamed, the Managing Director of Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) addressed the need to add diversity to the type of travel campaigns done for Maldives, to cater to all niches.

As such, he acknowledged the efforts by the Embassy to promote Maldives, noting the work done by Maldivians living abroad. He added that a diverse approach should be adopted in order to reach all the markets and cater to all kinds of travellers.
