Commission on deaths and disappearances concludes first case

Presidential Commission on Enforced Disappearances and Deaths have concluded their first case and forwarded it to Maldives Police Service.

The Commission revealed via a tweet that they concluded investigating the death of inmate Hussain Zareer who died in Maafushi Prison, and forwarded their findings to the police seeking criminal charges against those who were found to be negligent in causing his death.

The commission is investigating 25 separate cases that took place from February 2012 until the government of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih began administration.
