MTCC begins ferry services in Dhaalu atoll

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) begins ferry services to islands of Dhaalu atoll.

MTCC revealed that the ferries will travel two routes. Route 406 includes Meedhoo, Rinbidhoo, Hulhudheli and Kudahuvadhoo island, forr which ferries will be operated on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Meedhoo, Bandidhoo, Vaaniyaa, Maaenboodhoo and Kudahuvadhoo are on Route 407, and ferries will be operated on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday for the route. Ferries will operate between Meedhoo and Huvadhoo six times a week, said MTCC.

While a ferry ticket costs MVR 20, it can seat 100 passengers, and has additional space for luggage and bicycle storage.

MTCC has started operating ferries in Dhaalu atoll after 'Vermilion International', who was previously operating ferries in the atoll stopped operation.

MTCC is expanding their services, and began speed ferry services between Haa Alif and Haa Alif atoll earlier in April.
