'Journey to the Sunny Side' roadshow kicks off in South Korea

Maldives Marketing and PR Cooperation (MMPRC) has commenced a roadshow in South Korea promote Maldivian tourism under their 'Journey to the Sunny Side' series.

This is the fourth road show of the series aimed to promote Maldives as a tourist destination. The roadshow is being held Seoul and Busan from 6th to 9th August as a joint promotion with the Singapore Airlines.

The road show is aimed to promote Maldivian tourism to a wider South Korea market. During the roadshow, representatives from Maldivian tourism agencies will be meeting South Korean tour operators to further promote Maldives and its tourism.

Vakkaru Maldives, Splendid Asia, Hulhule Island Hotel, Eon Resorts, Villa Hotels & Resorts, Furaveri Island Resort, Bandos Maldives, Robinson Club Maldives, and Orca Media Group are exhibiting at the roadshow.

A raffle draw winner from among those who visit the roadshow in both cities will be awarded a complimentary holiday in the Maldives sponsored by Villa Hotels and Resorts.

MMPRC said the Journey to the Sunny Side roadshow is receiving the support and cooperation of tourism companies.

A total of 34,400 tourists from South Korea visited the Maldives in 2018. Figures from January to June 2019 show that 17,358 tourists from South Korea visited the Maldives during the first six months of the year — a growth of 9.1 per cent compared to the same period last year.
