Asian Development Bank (ADB)'s President Takehiko Nakao arrived in Maldives on Sunday night on a two-day official visit.
Mr. Nakao was welcomed by Finance Minister Ahmed Ameer at Velana International Airport upon his arrival.
During his visit, Mr. Nakao is scheduled to attend discussions with President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, Speaker of the Parliament Mohamed Nasheed and the Finance Minister. A press conference has also been scheduled for Monday afternoon at the President's Office.
ADB is a major international financial institution that assists Maldives. Last June, ADB provided an assistance of MVR 10 million to establish an electronic mechanism to facilitate business transactions for businesses and service providers.
