Defense Minister discusses murdered journo case with commission pres

Defense Minister Mariya Ahmed Didi has discussed the report issued by the Presidential Commission investigating Murders and Enforced Disappearances on the abduction and murder of Miniwan News Journalist Ahmed Rilwan, with commission President Husnu-Al-Suood.

Defense Ministry revealed that the Chief of Defense Force Major General Abdulla Shamaal and other senior officers of the defense force were present at the meeting held at the ministry on Saturday.

While the ministry revealed that the interim report issued by the commission on Rilwan's murder was accused, no further details were disclosed.

However, the attendees of the meeting noted that radicalism and violet extremism were a cause of major concern in the Maldives.

During the meeting, the implementation of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's 'Zero Tolerance on Terrorism' policy, under which the defense force would work together with National Counter Terrorism Center and other relevant government entities to maintain the county's peace was discussed .
