An 84-feet ferry launch has sunk between Kaafu Gaafaru and Male'.
MNDF disclosed that the boat named Comfort Express MH1 sunk while MNDF attempted to re-float the boat after it grounded on Gaafaru reef. The incident occurred around 9.45 am on Sunday morning.
MNDF said five people were aboard the vessel at the time of the incident. The passengers have been safely transferred to another vessel.
A coast guard launch is currently active at the area. MNDF requested those traveling in the area to be cautious.
These days, incidents at sea have notably increased due to severe weather conditions.
