VP Faisal encourages Maldives’ craftsmanship through education

Vice President Faisal Naseem stated that the government is working to make creativity a part of the education provided to children in order to encourage and cultivate creative skills in children.

Vice President Faisal Naseem stated this while speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the National Arts and Craft Exhibition 'Fannu Expo 2019' held at the National Art Gallery. In his speech, the VP urged for the contribution of everyone towards promoting Maldivian workmanship.

Highlighting the rich culture and traditions of the Maldives, the Vice President emphasized the creativity and vibrant craftsmanship observed from all across the country. He contemplated on the reasons behind a lack of efforts to promote such work, and noted the administration's efforts to encourage such talent which demonstrates the Maldivian national identity in the international stage.

Speaking about the role of the youth in this endeavor, the Vice President called upon the members of the youth to be more diligent; to work and be self-sufficient and contribute towards economic development. He further urged the youth, especially women entrepreneurs, to realise the full potential of Fannu Expo and other such opportunities.

The five-day exhibition will be held from 22nd to 28th of November in Dharubaaruge, Kalaafaanu School and the Children’s Park. It will act as a venue to showcase and market creative arts and craftsmanship.
