GDh. Thinadhoo Council Office stated on Wednesday that National Disaster Management Authority has provided financial assistance to the households damaged by flooding due to heavy rain this January.
Thinadhoo Council President Amjad Ali stated that National Disaster Management Authority granted MVR 83,000 to the 31 affected households last week.
"MVR 83,000 has been handed over to the households. The money was transferred to the house owners' bank accounts", said Amjad.
Thinadhoo is one of the islands that gets flooded in rainy seasons. The island council revealed that seven pump stations are being established in the island to address the issue.
