The government has handed over the development of a Master-plan for Male' North Harbor and Gulhifalhu to a Singaporean Company.
At a ceremony held at the Maldivian Embassy in Singapore on Wednesday, the designing of the Master-plan was contracted to HQ Company of Singapore for US$ 650,000.
Planning Ministry stated that Gulhifalhu will be developed to ease the load on Male' North harbor in loading and unloading goods in Male'.
"The agreement will help relieve the congestion caused in loading and unloading imported goods in Male'. Storage facilities will be made available at Gulhifalhu, and more leisure areas and space will be available in Male'", Planning Ministry said.
