'Maldives must prioritize locals for professional jobs'

Vice President Faisal Naseem stated that in all economic activities done in Maldives, Maldivians should be given top priority.

Vice President Faisal Naseem made the statement tonight while visiting the job fair held at Farukolhufushi to celebrate World Tourism Day.

Speaking in regard to the Job fair held to celebrate World Tourism Day Vice President Faisal Naseem stated that this is a new beginning and that in the near future we will find more Maldivians working in the field of Tourism.

Vice President Faisal said that government bodies are closely working with the private sector to create more opportunities for locals, especially for the youth within the tourism sector.

The job fair is held in Farukolhufushi to mark World Tourism Day 2019 and offers more than 500 job opportunities for locals within the tourism sector.

Scholarships also have been opened to those who want to continue higher studies. Some of the resort have opened apprenticeship as well.

There are 67 resorts that are taking part in this Farukolhufushi Job Fair. During the fair as entertainment many activities will be held.

Live music at the fair will be played by the local musicians and also the road to success of many of those in the Tourism feild will be narrated by them during the fair.
