Defence Ministry has conducted discussions with neighboring Sri Lanka to strengthen the capacity of Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF).
MNDF said the meeting took place between Sri Lankan Army's Chief Field Engineer, Major General T.J Nanayakkarar and Chief of Defense Force Major General Abdulla Shamaal during the General's ongoing visit to the Maldives.
Discussions on ways to strengthen military relations between both countries, training opportunities for MNDF officers ensued during the meeting.
Major Genral T.J Nanayakkarar is visiting the Maldives to attend opening ceremony of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (IOD) Basic Training being conducted by MNDF.
