Expat falls from building in capital Male'

The police have revealed that another expatriate worker has fallen from a building under construction in Male' City.

The police said the expatriate worker fell from the 5th floor of a building located on Fareedhee Magu around 9:50 AM today.

While he is currently being treated at state-run Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), the hospital has not disclosed any details regarding his condition or the extent of his injuries. The police are investigating the cause of his fall.

Recently, such incidents have been occurring frequently due to the lack of safety measures. Last week, an expatriate working at the new Cargo Terminal under construction at Velana International Airport (VIA) sustained injuries in a similar fall, while a 37-year old expatriate worker died last month after tragically falling from a building in Hulhumale'.
