'Kudahuvadhoo will become an urban hub' - Pres Solih

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has stated that Dh. Kudahuvadhoo will become an urban hub in the next few years.

Speaking at the special ceremony at Kudahuvadhoo held Wednesday to celebrate the golden jubilee of Dhaalu Atoll Hospital, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih revealed that the government has a special development plan for the island.

Noting that Dh. atoll is flourishing in the tourism sector, President Solih acknowledged that the atoll was also successful in the fishing sector among others. The atoll's success in the fields have made Kudahuvadhoo especially favorable for development.

"This island is especially favorable for future development. We will hopefully develop Kudahuvadhoo as an urban center under the government's developmental plan. We intend to establish all necessary resources required for such an urban center in this island", said the President.

The President shared updates of some of the proposed developmental projects focused on Kudahuvadhoo, including the development of roads, upgraded facilities at the School, ferry terminal construction, building housing units, designated fish market and establishing more sports and recreational facilities for the youth.

President Solih assured that the projects will be implemented soon, and revealed that the funds for several projects will be added to the 2020 national budget.
