President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih inaugurated dental services in Dhaalu Atoll Hospital and met with senior institutional representatives from Kudahuvadhoo Island of South Nilandhe Atoll today on his visit to the Atoll.
President's Office said President Solih toured the facility and spoke to the staff at the hospital following the inauguration ceremony,
Dhaalu Atoll Hospital was initially opened as a Health Center on the 21st of July 1969, and further developed and established as a Hospital on 24th May 2002.
With the inauguration of dental services, the Hospital now offers general medicine and various specialized services including gynecology, pediatrics, anesthesiology and surgery.
President Solih also met with senior institutional representatives from Kudahuvadhoo Island this morning. The meeting was held at the Secretariat of the Dhaalu Atoll Council, where President Solih inquired about the progress of developmental efforts on the island and discussed avenues of resolving issues, said the President's Office.
During the meeting, senior institutional representatives briefed the President on issues and challenges in providing services to the residents of Kudahuvadhoo, including the availability of utility and banking services, difficulties arising from scarcity of human resources and space constraints in civil service offices.
The President stated that the government would take necessary action after discussing with the relevant institutions to address the specific issues and concerns raised.
