The police have deemed the fire that occurred in HDh. Kulhuffushi on Monday as an act of arson.
The fire occurred Monday night near a home named Kakaage in Kulhudhuffushi.
The police had earlier stated that a motorcycle parked near Kakaage caught fire and spread to the ceiling of the outer foyer of the house. It also charred a small pick-up truck in the area.
The fire was put out by MNDF Fire and Rescue Services.
After examining the scene and based on evidence they found, the police have concluded that the fire was an act of arson. No arrests have been in connection to the case thus far, said the police.
