JSC to conduct audit on Supreme Court

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) on Sunday made the decision to conduct a special audit on the Supreme Court.

JSC made the decision at its sitting held on Sunday.

JSC said a strategic audit will be conducted by the Internal Audit Unit of the Department of Judicial Administration under the supervision of the Judicial Administration committee, to review the Supreme Court's administration and finances.

JSC's decision comes while the Department of Judicial Administration is preparing to bring changes to some administrative policies of the court.

Chief Justice Dr. Ahmed Abdulla Didi has resisted the proposed changes and voiced his disapproval. However, he has now been suspended by the JSC and the administration of the court has been temporarily handed over to Justice Abdulla Areef.
