Pres Solih, Indian PM Modi to launch four projects in Maldives

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, together with Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi will be launching several development projects in Maldives on Wednesday.

Four projects funded by the government of India will be inaugurated, including the handover of interceptor vessels donated by the indian government, the installation of LED lights in capital Male', the launching of three fish processing plants, and initiating the process to roll out Indian payment card 'RuPay' in the Maldives

The four projects will be launched by President Solih and PM Modi on Wednesday evening via video conference.

The bilateral relations between Maldives and India has strengthened significantly since President Solih was elected as President in 2018. While Modi has visited the Maldives twice since then, President Solih has also visited India. The neighbouring country has extended several grant aids to Maldives.
