An Eye Care Centre will be established at Hulhumale' Hospital with the assistance of the Chinese government.
Hulhumale' Hospital revealed that the center will be opened during early January, and that a camp on eye diseases will be organized following its inauguration.
The camp will be conducted jointly by Hulhumale' Hospital and a Chinese medical team, during which information will be shared on issues such as cataracts, glaucoma and the negative effects of diabetes on eyes. Prescription glasses will also be issued, the hospital added.
The hospital further revealed that the screening of potential participants interested in the camp is currently ongoing. Screening appointment can be scheduled by calling 1417, they said. Chinese doctors will be working at the centre, the hospital revealed.
