National airline Maldivian has announced plans to commence flights between southernmost Addu atoll and Huvadhoo atoll.
Maldivian said flight operation between Addu and Huvadhoo will begin on Sunday. However, no further details were disclosed.
Earlier at a ceremony held at Addu City Council to handover the road development project of the city,
Economic Minister Fayyaz had revealed that Maldivian will commence six weekly flights between Addu and Huvadhoo starting Sunday.
"We are working to align the schedule of flights operating between Addu and Huvadhoo with the schedule of Sri Lankan Airlines flights to Gan International Airport starting April," revealed Fayyaz.
The national airline currently operates to 13 local airports. The airline manages and operates some of these airports.
