A man has been injured after being attacked with a sharp object.
Police said a man was assaulted with a sharp object on the outer Boduthakurufaanu Magu of capital Male' on Friday night. The injured man is currently being treated at state-run Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
The 31-year old local man was taken to the hospital by the police after he was found with injuries near the carnival area. Police said he was attacked by a man who attempted to rob him.
"He was injured while his wallet was being snatched. He has a 2-3i inches deep cut above his wrist," the police said.
Earlier this month, a taxi driver was killed after being attacked with a knife in an attempt to rob him.
