Economic Ministry has brought changes to the policy followed in issuing quota to bring in expatriate workers to the Maldives.
According to an announcement issued by the Economic Ministry, in addition to a copy of the project agreement, a 'project agreement form' requesting for quota is now required to be submitted at the ministry when seeking to bring in expatriate workers.
The ministry said the form will ask for information required to ensure that a project has indeed been assigned to the party seeking the quota. The form must either be notarized by a public notary or registered at the Civil Court, said the announcement.
While employers can request for quota starting from January 1st, the submission of the project agreement copy will complete the application, said the ministry.
