Ministry of Housing commences inspection of China Flats

The Ministry of Housing has commenced inspection of the China Flats allocated by the previous government.

The Ministry on Wednesday said that they have been receiving complaints stating there are water leakages, from tenants residing in 704 flats built in Hulhumale’ by China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC). Therefore, to renovate the flats they have commenced an inspection in collaboration with HDC.

The Ministry said that if there are any issues in those flats, complaints can be submitted to the Ministry before 16 January and the renovation work will be initiated after the inspection.

The flats that people started residing two years back, complaints were received at the time as well and inspections were carried on then.

The three-bedroom flats with attached lavatories, 500 flats were allocated for Male’ citizens. The rest of the flats were for residents in Male’ from other islands and for handicapped people. The monthly rental charge for the flats including maintenance charge is MVR 7000.
