The former VP Dr Mohamed Jameel has said that the upcoming local council election is a golden opportunity to serve the public independent from the government.
Dr Jameel said the above in a tweet sharing the article published by AVAS with regard to the issue filed with ICOM seeking information of the President’s trip to the US to participate in 74th meeting of UN General Assembly.
Dr Jameel said that the information seeker having to approach ICOM for not sharing the mentioned information is a wrong message given toward "zero-tolerance". He further said that integrity is proven with actions.
Pointing to the upcoming local council election, he said that this is one of the reasons that the public has to pay attention to the "empty promises" and "sugar-coated" talks.
“This is a golden opportunity to serve the public independently without the government’s influence,” Dr Jameel said referring to voting for the opposition in the local council election.
