The government has said that in the first week this year the revenue generated by the state is MVR 88 million while the expenditure incurred is MVR 219 million.
The statistics published by the Ministry of Finance on the income and expenditure of the government shows that in the first week MVR 54.2 million was received and revenues received other than tax amounts to MVR 32.5 million. However, there are no grants received during this period.
In the previous year, during the first week, MVR 234.7 million was received and during that period MVR 153 million was received as tax revenues and revenues other than tax amounted to MVR 93 million. Plus MVR 200,000 was received as grants.
