President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said that the government will not influence the work of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
In a meeting held at the President’s Office on Monday, the President said that the government or any official of the government do not have the intention to influence the work of ACC. He further said that one of the priorities of the government is to eliminate corruption.
The President requested the members of ACC to accelerate awareness among the general public and to escalate the work of eradicating the corruption.
In the meeting, the members of ACC have shared information with the President on the kind of cases filed in ACC and how the work is being carried out.
The members of ACC met with the President Solih while the President had raised concern over the delays in the progress of the development projects when ACC requests to cease the work of certain projects due to complaints they receive.
The President raised the concern in a meeting of MDP held at Hdh. Vaikaradhoo.
