The Ministry of Economic Development and Maldives Polytechnic have signed an agreement to initiate several skill development programs within the Atoll.
With the aim of educating 5,000, participation in the program will be free of charge.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Minister of Economic Development Fayyaz Ismail stated that there was an insufficient degree of public support upon the initiation of free programs. He further expressed his hopes that they will further be supported within the Atoll.
The agreement was signed by State Minister of the Ministry Neeza Imadh, and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Polytechnic Mohamed Nasir.
Under the agreement, the youth are to develop strategies through the efforts of both parties in order to prepare them for the job market.
In collaboration with other government authorities, Polytechnic have also previously initiated various youth educational courses. Furthermore, they have revealed that these courses are set to ensue this year as well.
