Home Minister, and President of Adhaalath Party, Imran Abdulla is in Hdh. atoll on a campaign trail ahead of the upcoming local council elections.
Ruling coalition partner Adhaalath kicked off their campaign for the council elections in Hdh. atoll. The Home Minister is accompanied by a delegation of seven officials from the party, including the party's Deputy President and Secretary General.
While a door-to-door campaign was commenced in Hanimaadhoo island on Thursday, they traveled to Nellaidhoo and Vaikaradhoo on Friday and conducted campaign activities. The team will be visiting Neykurandhoo and Kumundhoo on Saturday.
983 officials will be elected in the local council election slated for April 4. While 33% of seats have been reserved for women under recent amendments to the Decentralization Act, 930 members will be elected to Women's Development Committees on the same day.
