STELCO has renovated the minaret of the Friday Mosque of Male’.
The Ministry of Arts, Culture and Heritage handed over the task of renovating Friday Mosque to the main power service company STELCO, including the minaret, the well, and other boundaries of the mosque on the 4th of December 2019. The minaret was extremely worn-out, and algae had invaded the minaret. However, now it has been renovated and revamped much.
According to STELCO, they had completed the task and held a small ceremony to celebrate the triumph.
Speaking in the ceremony, Ms Yuman Maumoon, Minister of Heritage, praised the work of STELCO and thanked the taskforce.
Mr Azuwar Ali, Deputy Managing Director of STELCO, said the renovation worked was done contemplating as their work and that it is a pride for the employees of STELCO to have acquired the opportunity to work in the project.
