Ooredoo Maldives has revealed that the company intends to increase their investments to further strengthen the company and expand its services.
Speaking at a ceremony held Monday to launch the company's programs for 2020, Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director of Ooredoo, Najeeb Khan said the new year will further reinforce the relationship that exists between the company and the Maldivian people.
"We will introduce special services targeted at businesses, and several new products this year. We will work towards digitizing the Maldives in collaboration with our partners," he said.
Najeeb said while 15 years have passed since the company launched in the Maldives, the company has reached new heights during that time.
"Within the past five years, the company has advanced by 22 - 25%. We aim to introduce the latest services provided across the globe to the Maldives at the earliest," he said.
Najeeb attested a large part of the company's success to its partners and the Maldivian people.
"Ooredoo revolutionised the telecom industry of the Maldives. We provide our services such that it is most beneficial to the Maldivian people," said Najeeb.
During the ceremony, Ooredoo announced some of their activities planned for the year and revealed that their annual colour run will be held in newly designated city Kulhudhuffushi, in addition to Hulhumale' and Addu. Furthermore, a new batch of the 'Niru Accelerator' program aimed at youth interested in IT programming will be commenced next month, informed Ooredoo.
The telecom company also launched the cyber-safety awareness programs under their social responsibility program.
Formerly named Wataniya Maldives, Ooredoo first began their services in the Maldives in 2005. During the 'Welcome 2020' ceremony, the company acknowledged the services of employees who served the company throughout the years and presented plaques to the individuals.
