Former Thimarafushi MP Mohamed Mustafa has stated that former President Yameen Abdul Gayyoom's government was operated with more efficiency than the current government.
Commending the former President, Mustafa said that Yameen led the country intelligently and with wisdom during his tenure, and said that the strength of his rule is now clear to the public.
He then heavily criticized President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's administration, stating that one cannot rule a country with passive inaction.
Mustafa is one of the 12 members who defected to the opposition against former President Yameen during his tenure. Shortly after being elected to the 18th Parliament on an MDP ticket, Musthafa joined Yameen's PPM. However, he later criticized Yameen's government heavily and was an active contributor in changing the leadership in the 2018 presidential election.
