Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has closed off the Hulhumale' barbecue area to the public.
An announcement issued by HDC on Saturday stated that the area will be closed from Sunday onwards as the area needs to be cleared for the development of the area linking Hulhumale' Phase 1, and Phase 2.
As such, the barbecue pit, tables, and such material will be cleared from the area to clear space.
The barbecue area is one frequently visited by families and local businesses during holidays and weekends. With the closing of the area, HDC has not yet revealed an area that the people can utilize for such recreational purposes.
