The opposition coalition, Progressive Party of the Maldives (PPM)’s Vice President and MP of Guraidhoo, Ghassan Maumoom has criticised the government saying, having passed one-fourth of the term of the current administration; the public should question them what have they achieved. Ghassan is the youngest child of the former president and the longest served president of the Maldives, President Maumoon Abdul Qayyoom.
Criticising the government, Ghassan said on the popular social media platform Twitter, while ¼ of the term has passed since the current administration came into power, the public should evaluate what the government have completed. The public should find the answers to the questions themselves and ask if the country is heading in the right direction.
He questioned to what extent have the government fulfilled its vows and what development has been brought to the livelihood of the island community.
The opposition and some individuals have been criticising the slow pace of the government and lack of implementation of the development projects.
