The telecommunication service provider Dhiraagu has designated a special room for nursing mothers on the occassion of this year's International Women's Day.
According to Dhiraagu, they established the room at their headquarters for nursing mothers working in the organization to facilitate safe and secure breastfeeding and expressing of breast milk.
One of the two telecommunication service providers in the Maldives, Dhiraagu said there are over 600 employees of the organization working in various islands of the Maldives and women play a significant role in the organization.
Dhiraagu said that the organization has always been empowering women, providing equal opportunities for women, and its target is to make its hard-working and responsible female employees successful professionally as well as in personal life.
In some countries, it is mandatory to establish such facilities in offices, as it is vital to have such facilities while working for long hours at the office and facilitate for a happy family and to empower women.
