A Maldivian national has tested positive for COVID-19. This is the fifth local to test positive for the virus in the Maldives.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said the person had recently returned to the Maldives from the Philippines. He was quarantined at Eriyadhoo Quarantine Facility upon his return, as per the policy being followed to curb the spread of the virus.
20 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the Maldives thus far. The other Maldivians who tested positive for the virus had recently returned to the archipelago from the United Kingdom.
