COVID-19: Quarantine orders in effect in 26 islands

National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) has stated that 26 islands have been quarantined by health authorities.

In a news brief held Monday night by NEOC, the Centre’s spokesperson Mabrook Azeez said several residential households and islands linked to positive cases of COVID-19 have been quarantine.

The islands are:

Sh. Lhaimagu
B.Goidhoo
K.Maafushi
B.Fulhadhoo
K.Thulusdhoo
K.Kudavilingili
K.Thulhaagiri Island Resort
Ha. Uligam
Sh. Narudhoo
N.Holhudhoo
Sh. Funadhoo
Sh. Milandhoo
Sh. Feevah
Sh. Maaungoodhoo
N. Maafaru
N.Miladhoo
N. Kendhikulhudhoo
N. Henbadhoo
Ha. Utheem
Ha. Dhidhdhoo
N. Velidhoo
Hdh. Kulhudhufufshi City

Mabrook said K. Guraidhoo, and two vessels have been relieved from quarantine. However, the boats Amaaz and Kaaviyaa are still under quarantine.

A total of 260 households, including those in greater Male’ region and atolls have been placed in quarantine.
