Over 300 foreigners stranded in the Maldives were repatriated on Thursday.
Movement across most borders have been restricted as a precautionary measure against COVID-19, due to which several people have been stranded in countries across the world, including Maldives.
Maldives Immigration on Thursday said foreigners from three countries received authorization for travel, and the individuals have now been repatriated on a special evacuation flight arranged via Sri Lanka. They include 285 Sri Lankan nationals, 14 Japanese nationals and 2 South Korean nationals, said Maldives Immigration.
