Over 20 police officers have tested positive for COVID-19.
A tweet published by the Police Commissioner Mohamed Hameed on Sunday said 23 police officers have tested positive for the disease, and 293 officers & staff under managed isolation to mitigate spread from potential exposure to the positive cases.
All 23 officers are doing well, he assured, adding that enhanced measures are being taken to further mitigate the spread of COVID19 within the police force, said the commissioner.
1090 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the Maldives thus far. According to the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC), the figure includes 199 frontline workers.
