COVID-19: Tally at 1547 with 34 new cases

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) announced 34 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday.

According to HPA, the new cases are of 12 locals, 21 Bangladeshi nationals and one Indian national. The total number of positive cases detected in the Maldives has now reached 1547.

242 COVID-19 recoveries have been recorded in the Maldives thus far. The archipelago has had five COVID-19 related fatalities out of which three are elderly people. The government has granted some eases on the strict lockdown imposed on Male' city as the number of positive cases are declining.
