In that regard, the Economic Ministry and BCC have collaboratively planned to implement a programme to assist the businesses working to introduce local products to the market, said BCC.

The purpose of the programme is to produce local products up to international standards and to locally produce the products that are being imported to the Maldives. The announcement further stated that the government will assist in product development, branding and proceeding with joint-venture businesses. It further stated that the long term goals of the programme are to develop successful export-oriented medium and small enterprises and to assist sustainably exporting local products.

Those who wish to join in the programme are requested to fill the designated form and submit by June 30.
