700 Indian nationals in the Maldives will be repatriated back to their country in an Indian navy ship.
A large number of expatriates are testing positive for COVID-19 in the Maldives, including Bangladeshi and Indian nationals. The Indian government has previously repatriated 1400 Indian nationals on a navy ship, and an additional 153 Indian nationals via air travel.
The Indian Defence Ministry said a navy ship will depart to Sri Lanka and Maldives on Monday to evacuate 700 Indian nationals in Sri Lanka and 700 in Maldives.
