171 Indian nationals in the Maldives have been repatriated.
Several foreign nationals were stranded in the Maldives when the country closed its borders as a precautionary measure against COVID-19.
Maldives Immigration said 171 nationals and 29 European citizens were allowed to leave the country after the necessary permits were obtained. Those traveling to Europe will be transiting at Sri Lanka, said Immigration. All are travelling on an evacuation flight arranged for the purpose.
