Education Ministry seeks party to supply digital thermometers

Education Ministry is seeking a party to supply 500 digital thermometers in time for schools to reopen once COVID-19 transmission in controlled in the Maldives.

As per the announcement publicized by the Education Ministry, the bidders must be the local parties that are registered with the Economic Ministry as small or medium enterprises. The ministry further requested interested parties to register by June 9. Only the parties that register for the programme will be eligible to submit bids, said the ministry. The bid submission deadline is June 15.

The bidders shall pay MVR 10,000 as a security deposit prior to submission of the bids.

Last week, the ministry made an announcement seeking a party to supply 12,500 bottles of soap.

The government has relieved some of the lockdown measures imposed on the capital Male’ although schools still remain closed. It has been more than 2 months since the schools have been closed amid COVID-19 pandemic. There is no indication as to when the schools will be reopened.

The government has been working to revert to normalcy amid the COVID-19 pandemic by adapting to a ‘new normal'. The government is preparing for the reopening of school under the ‘new normal’.
