Equipment necessary for the regional medical facilities being established to treat COVID-19 patients have been installed at the respective centres.
State Trading Organization, STO said all equipment and other necessary resources have been procured and that it is an important progress in Maldives’ response against COVID-19.
Medical Facilities have already been established in reclaimed suburbs, Hulhumale’ in Male’ City, Laam Gan, Gaaf Alif Villingili, Baa Eydhafushi, Shaviyani Funadhoo and Haa Alif Ihavandhoo. Most medical centres are already in operation.
The number of positive cases being detected in the atolls have increased significantly over the past few weeks. Positive cases have been detected in Feydhoo and Hithadhoo of Addu City, some inhabited islands in Baa, Haa Alif, Haa Dhaalu, Vaavu and Raa atoll. Cases have also been registered in some local resorts.
