A border control system has been established at Maafaru Internation Airport in Noonu atoll.
The Ministry of Communication, Science and Technology on Wednesday announced that the border control system developed by the National Centre for Information Technology (NCIT) has reached completion. Once the system is successfully implemented in Maafaru, the system will be established at all other international airports and seaports of the Maldives, the ministry said. The newly developed system will facilitate seamless entry for tourists arriving at Maafaru during the current situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, said the ministry.
