The Maldives on Friday recorded 140 positive cases of COVID--19.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said 134 cases were identified in the capital Male’ region while the remaining cases were detected in the atolls. The new cases are of 114 locals and 26 foreigners. The total number of cases registered in the Maldives is now at 7,469.
HPA also announced 182 recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of recoveries to 4,873. While 28 deaths have been recorded to date, the number of active cases is 2,568. Out of these, 190 patients are currently hospitalised.
